The Napoleon Review

The Napoleon Review, published since the beginning of 2000, at a rate of four issues a year (quarterly), has two interesting features: 1) Each issue (February 20, May 20, August 30 and November 20 of each year), deals with a series of events that occurred exactly 200 years earlier. For example, the issue that came out in the first quarter of 2002 featured events that occurred in the first quarter of 1802, and so on, in chronological order.

Each magazine is a bicentenary issue!

This approach has a number of advantages; it allows you to:
    -     Revisit the history of the Consulate and the Empire at the same pace as the original events themselves.
    -     Learn about other interesting events that, although they have received less attention, are often important for a thorough understanding of this extraordinary period.

2) The Napoleon Review is published in the format of a magazine, but has all the quality of a luxury book. It is produced in accordance with far higher standards than other magazines, and its very high quality is offered to you at a far more reasonable price than what you would expect to pay for a beautiful book.

The period of the Consulate that we are currently revisiting, while containing relatively few military events (except for incidents in the colonies or at sea), is nevertheless extraordinarily rich. In fact, the Consulate left a heritage of organization and achievements that still form the basis for France's institutions and have served as a model for those of many other countries.

Each 92-page issue has a stitched and glued square back-binding, includes a large number of high-quality illustrations (mostly in colour), and contains very little advertising. This encyclopaedia-type magazine is a must for your library. For the 15-year period between 1800 and 1815 alone, subscribers receive 60 issues amounting to over 5000 pages: in short, a very significant amount of information that, in addition, is classified chronologically.

Finally, we wish to point out that the Napoleon Review is published in three languages (French, English, Italian), and is created by independent amateurs.
